Pierre Cardin | $355 Million, France

Pietro Costante Cardin, born on July 2, 1922, in San Biagio di Carretta, Italy, is a French fashion designer of Italian descent well-known for his avant-garde style and Space Age aesthetics. His designs often rely on geometric shapes and often end up becoming experimental. He established his fashion house back in 1950 and received credit for creating the bubble dress in 1954.

For his home, Cardin’s Bubble House also reflected the designer’s avant-garde approach to his craft. Designed by Antti Lovag, the house was built between 1975 and 1989. In 2016, the Bubble House was reported to be on sale for $355 million. Before the property gets a new owner, however, the 13,000 sq. ft. house can be rented out. It comes with three swimming pools, a garden, and a 500-seat amphitheater for a rental rate of $31,000.
